New for 2018 - Speed@Seawork and more
Innovative new features for Europe’s largest commercial marine and workboat exhibition as Seawork International celebrates 21 years in 2018.
This fast vessel event is a new sector specific feature for Seawork International. The two-day event starts on Monday 2 July with a showcase day of sea trials in the Solent, followed on Tuesday 3 July – the opening day of Seawork – by the Speed@Seawork conference.
Andrew Webster, CEO of Seawork organiser Mercator Media, said, “Speed@Seawork is being launched in response to sustained industry demand for a dedicated event for fast vessel builders, operators and specialist equipment manufacturers.
Speed@Seawork aims to bring them together to trial equipment in diverse sea states, share best practice and make the connections and innovations needed for high-speed critical operations to be a success.”
New contemporary website
Seawork.com delivers improved features that provide easier navigation and better search facilities and a fresh, updated look. Enhanced exhibitor listings combined with multi-media showcase key specialities and competencies.
Enhanced Trails and Pavilions Focus
Seawork’s new Superyacht Build, Repair and Refit Trail is being launched as the exhibition is ideally positioned to support the requirements of the complexities of the vessels. These vessels often share the needs of design, propulsion and support, and require a similar skillset from professionals across vessel and port operations, engineering through to commercial diving. The Superyacht Build, Repair and Refit Trail will feature representation from naval architects, ship builders and engineers, through to navigation and equipment manufacturers.
The new Composites Pavilion will feature many of the sophisticated materials and techniques used to build large vessels that demonstrate a clear overlap between commercial marine and the superyacht sector. The global composites materials market is growing at about 5% per year, with carbon fibre demand growing at 12% per year.
Seawork’s Maritime Training & Skills Trail enables attendees to explore training, apprenticeships, employment and educational opportunities. Specialist maritime recruitment companies, education centres and training organisations provide expert advice to attendees on entering the industry, and learning, maintaining and developing a successful maritime career.
New Best Maritime Project Award and new Young Persons Development Award
The European Commercial Marine Awards (ECMAs) incorporate the Innovations Showcase that attracts entries from across Europe. In addition to the awards for Maritime Professional, Sustainability and Lifetime Achievement, two new awards are introduced for 2018.
