Kort Propulsion's new Asian contract
UK based Kort Propulsion, established in 1935 and now in their 82nd year, announced at Seawork that they have signed a new contract with Shipbuilding Asia UK.
The new contract is for a 90ft Fishing Trawler, delivering a Yanmar 6EY17W – rated at 749KW@1350RPM with Reintjes Gearboxes. Kort will be suppling full propulsion package of shafting, propeller, kort nozzle, KT250 Tunnel Thruster, and steering system from Wills Ridley. Macduff Ship Design has been appointed to produce the design for this vessel and Shipbuilding Asia UK won the contract to build this vessel. The vessel is scheduled to go into operation by April 2018.
Kort Propulsion provides powering and performance data calculations for all projects. This has proven to be a valuable asset for both shipyards, boat builders and vessel designers.
Kort Propulsion, Macduff Ship Design and Shipbuilding Asia UK have started working closely together and the companies are looking forward to this new business relationship with this new project and hopefully future new builds. Together they offer their clients bespoke, modern, trendsetting, high quality and competitively priced vessels.
