Innovation Showcase wins pay long-term dividends
Taking part in Seawork’s Innovation Showcase can make a significant, long-term contribution to the success of a new product by quickly raising its profile. It can also act as a catalyst to establishing distribution channels. What will you enter in 2014?
The benefits of taking part in the Showcase are decidedly long-term. Julie Smith of Servowatch Systems, which won the inaugural Innovations Showcase in 2003 for its Systems Integrated Management System (SIMS) - and has continued exhibiting at Seawork ever since - provides a ringing endorsement of the accolade: “Winning the prestigious Innovation Showcase Award provided Servowatch with immediate recognition and status within the marine systems integration environment. The profile of this new science and technology was lifted and underpinned by the Award, leading to increased market opportunity and subsequent business.”
Andrew Davies, Sales Director at Halyard, is also enthusiastic about the impact of winning the Spirit of Innovation Trophy: “In 2007, Halyard was fortunate enough to win the Spirit of Innovation Trophy for the most outstanding new product in the Innovation Showcase with the Resonance Silencer. The Award was a huge help in firmly establishing the product within the commercial sector. Not only was the product on display to all exhibitors and visitors in attendance at the exhibition but the response from the media and the industry as a whole provided a fantastic opportunity for us. The Spirit of Innovation Trophy provided great recognition for our design team and the hours spent turning an idea into reality.”
The overall winner of the 2013 Innovation Awards was Filtertechnik for its Particle Pal, a self-contained, battery operated field kit that passes oil or fuel through a laser particle counter. Managing Director Richard Price commented: “The PR team at Seawork has been very proactive in promoting the win through its communication channels which has resulted in numerous enquiries from the UK and overseas.” Meanwhile, NRG Marine, winner of the 2013 Safety Category with its PFE Fire Extinguishers, has since confirmed a distribution agreement with fellow exhibitor, C-Quip.
2014 will be the 12th Innovations Showcase; free to enter, it can make a real difference to your business. Exhibitors are encouraged to start thinking now about which product, introduced to the market in the 12 months preceding the exhibition, could be a contender. The entry form will be included in the Exhibitor Manual.
