The Awards have been announced The Awards have been announced

The Innovations Showcase, sponsored by Barker Brettell and Smith & Williamson, culminated in the presentation of the Innovation Awards on 10th June at Seawork by BBC TV South’s Paul Clifton.

The overall winner was MarShip UK with the EDI Lub Oil Purifier, an innovation that can extend the life of engine oil by up to four times. 

Category winners were: 

Training: MYMIC (Marina Safety Simulation Training)

Marine Engineering: MarShip UK (EDI Lub Oil Purifier)

Propulsion: E P Barrus (180HP Diesel Outboard Motor)

Diving & Underwater Technology: Atlantas Marine (Dextera subsea manipulator) 

Safety – CQC – Fibrelight Stretcher

The recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award was Jack Gaston, whose first article on tugs appeared in 1965. A regular contributor to Maritime Journal, Jack’s interest in tugs towing “has been - and will remain - all consuming.”

The Seawork Maritime Professional of the Year Award was presented to Luke Webster of PM Shipping.
