PE Composites great start to 2019
Seawork exhibitor, PE Composites Ltd is continuing to build on a great start to 2019 with a steadily growing order book. The company is seeing growth in its established defence and energy sectors and is also gaining an excellent reputation for quality in the Superyacht sector
PE Composites successfully delivered two superyacht tender hulls and decks to Pascoe International in the last quarter of 2018 and has now received a further order for three more sets.
The Isle of Wight-based company is privately owned and specialises in the manufacture and design of lightweight components using glass and carbon fibre reinforced polymer composite materials, and the machining of both metal and non-metallic materials.
PE Composites began in 1955, supplying precision engineered components to customers in the defence and commercial sectors. Since then its markets have expanded to encompass the design of GRP and composite structures for almost any sector, and especially for use in harsh conditions.
PE Composites also offer lightweight products with low FST (fire, smoke, toxicity) properties designed to satisfy the requirements of the IMO SOLAS International Code for the Application of Fire Test Procedures (2010 FTP Code). This work has resulted in the development of a lightweight accommodation cabin (module) and also JetStop™, an innovative jet and hydrocarbon fire and blast protection solution for supply primarily, but not exclusively, to the oil and gas sector.
The company’s ongoing research and development has created innovative smart composite materials for applications such as stealth management and to integrate components within composite structures. This has led to the development of an Antennas on Composites (AoC) concept, now being trialled in the superyacht sector.
