Investment for first time exhibitor Langley Alloys
British company, and new to Seawork, Langley Alloys has recently commissioned its latest investment, a large deep-hole borer, able to cost-effectively bore up to 8” diameter central holes over 2m in length into solid bars of high-performance alloys in a single operation.
By ordering bored bars directly from Langley Alloys end users can generate savings from less transport, handling and purchase risk, whilst lead times can also be reduced. The supply chain is greatly simplified by dealing with a single point-of-contact, with the benefits of the company’s quality systems and traceability.
As well as providing a competitive general machining service, Langley Alloys can use this capability to offer hollow sections in small amounts that would otherwise not be available ex-stock. Using its metallurgical know-how, the company can further process its alloys to create either solid or hollow bars with significantly increased strengths, creatively replacing much more expensive materials options.
With more than 80 years of experience Langley Alloys Limited has a worldwide reputation for supplying unique metals for demanding applications. Operating from locations in the United Kingdom, United States and Singapore, it carries extensive stocks of advanced duplex stainless steels, super duplex stainless steels, nickel alloys, and copper alloys in bar, plate and tube form.
The company provides products that deliver functional performance in the harshest of conditions, whether it’s for sub-sea systems at great depths, or the aggressive environments found within modern power generation and chemical production plants.
Langley Alloys offering also includes a number of unique metals developed by Langley Alloys, including Ferralium®, Hiduron®, Hidurel® and Fermonic®.
