The awards ceremony is held on site at Seawork in the spectacular waterfront glass restaurant, overlooking the Seawork Marina in Mayflower Park. An important part of the annual Seawork show, the ECMAs attract over 400 attendees including exhibitors and their guests.
This prestigious event provides great opportunities for networking, making it a 'must do' social event in the diary for all Seawork exhibitors.
The awards take place early on the opening evening of Seawork. Following welcoming drinks and canapes, the first part of the evening sees the presentation of the coveted Innovation Showcase Awards with the overall winner being presented with the Spirit of Innovation award. The second part of the evening moves in to the European Commercial Marine awards themselves with the presentation of the new ECM Best Project Award, the ECM Maritime Professional of the Year Award, the ECM Maritime Sustainability Award, and culminating in the ECM Lifetime Achievement Award.
The showcase of entries for the ECM Innovation Awards gives visitors the opportunity to see the latest in products, services, projects and vessels introduced to the market by Seawork exhibitors in the past 12 months.
2017 Spirit of Innovation award winner – Blueye Robotics from Norway – won the prestigious ECM award for the Blueye Pioneer, the deepest underwater consumer drone on the market that can dive to depths of 150 metres.
Co-founder & Chief Global Strategist of Blueye robotics, Christine Spiten, commented, “Winning the Innovation Award at Seawork really gave us some attention – both customers, job applicants and interested investors referred to the award! The Blueye Team is now preparing for mass production, going from prototype to the final version that will be shipped to customers in 2018”.
The Innovation Showcase is open for submissions from both Seawork exhibitors (free), and non-exhibitors (fee applies).
