Transas launches port management systems
The PMIS provides real-time port management
Swedish marine software company, Transas Marine, has launched its Port Management Information Systems (PMIS) – a solution for real-time port management.
The PMIS has been designed to fit with the best practices of the port industry and can be customised to meet the specific needs of any port. The system features a set of web applications which allow vessel and cargo operations to be automatically handled. Related processes including vessel calls management, chartering, the allocation of cargo handling equipment and invoicing and management reports can also be handled.
The PMIS is also features Vessel Traffic Management System (VTMS) software which provides the monitoring and management of vessel activity within the port and its location in operational areas. By using the system, ports can receive real-time information and together with 3D VTS, can provide 3D views of the navigational situation in a port.
Transas have designed the system to also improve communication between port users through electronic data exchange. It can provide port authorities with Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data to assess a port’s performance.
Additional features such as financial or accounting packages can also be added to the system, providing a more efficient management solution for ports.
