Stormer Marine to unveil new 9.5m at Seawork

The Netherlands’ Stormer Marine builds workboats for a global client base

Returning Seawork exhibitor, Stormer Marine will unveil its prototype 9.5m multipurpose craft. It will also display its current Rescue 75 demonstrator, which will be on the water showcasing its maneuverability and offshore support capabilities

For the fourth consecutive year, Stormer Marine, headquartered in Amsterdam, will return to Seawork to promote its versatile Rescue vessels which is operated by authorities, contractors, harbour officials and rescue organisations.

Stormer Marine’s Rescue 75 is available as an inboard, outboard and jet. A Rescue 75 operated by OHT AS, who opted for the 220hp jet drive version, is used for line handling duties during offshore and inshore heavy lift operations, where it runs the mooring lines from the heavy lift carrier to oil rigs and semi-submersibles.

The vessel is 7m long, 2.35m wide, making it easily transportable on a 40 foot flat rack. It also features a push bow and rubber fender around the hull and is equipped with many products from other fellow Seawork exhibitors. These include a Henriksen quick-release hook, which enables it to be lifted by a mother vessel, and the inboard 220hp Yanmar, with Alamarin-jet drives, ensures that the vessel is manoeuvrable during all operations.

Due to be unveiled at Seawork 2018, Stormer Marine’s new 9.5m will reflect the features of the Rescue 75, whose applications include patrol, rescue, pollution control, firefighting, surveillance, contracting, towing and transportation services. Richard Gramser, co-founder and owner of Stormer Marine, commented, “The new 9.5m will have a good and fast design, combined with being multi-purpose and heavy duty.”

He continues, “We exhibit at Seawork as it gives us a wide and international audience, coming from sectors such as fish farming, rescue, police, as well as large ship owners, and therefore greatly helps with building an awareness of our product as well as delivering us some good leads”.

This young Dutch shipyard states that it combines the Dutch shipbuilding craft with the latest technologies in marine-design, engineering, build and propulsion.
