South Boats order from Hampshire Constabulary

The new vessel will be delivered at the end of June

Hampshire Constabulary has placed an order with South Boats Special Projects Ltd for a South Catamaran 12m Workboat.

This GRP manufactured vessel has started production and will be delivered at the end of June 2012.

The vessel has an LOA of 12.4m, Beam of 5.4m, Draught of 1.3m, a lightship displacement of 12 tonnes and 28m2 of aft deck space. Powered by twin Iveco 420hp N67ENTM45 engines, the vessel will achieve a sprint speed of 25 knots.

Ben Colman, sales and technical director, is quoted as saying: "We are delighted to build on our ongoing relationship with Hampshire Constabulary with this new vessel order, demonstrating our ability to build workboats for specific roles and environments."
