BRITISH MARINE SPONSORS INNOVATIONS SHOWCASE

British Marine sponsors Innovations Showcase

The Innovations Showcase, sponsored by British Marine, provides visitors with the opportunity to see the latest in equipment, services, projects and vessels that have been introduced by exhibitors during the past year.

For 2018 the Innovations Showcase moves to a central location in the Atlantic Hall adjacent to the Maritime Journal stand and the Press Office.

The first 14 entries have been submitted for the Innovations Showcase. Give your latest equipment, service, project or vessel the recognition it deserves at Seawork.  Each entry is in with a chance to win the overall 'Spirit of Innovation' trophy, as well as individual category awards

Categories include:

  • Vessel Design & Construction
  • Marine Civil Engineering & Construction
  • Marine Equipment, Electronics & Materials
  • Diving & Underwater Technology
  • Renewable Energy
  • Safety & Training

To qualify, all entries must have come to market in the previous 12 months and provide a valuable insight into the latest in design and technology, along with a submission application explaining why the entry is innovative.

The Innovations Showcase, as part of the European Commercial Marine Awards (ECMAs), is judged in various categories, and an Award and Certificate of Commendation will be presented to the winner of each category.

The Innovation Showcase is open for submissions from both Seawork exhibitors (free), and non-exhibitors (fee applies).

The overall winner trophy, sculpted by John Mellows from Azure Dragon Design, will be awarded at the ECM Awards Evening which takes place on Tuesday evening at Seawork, in the Golden Arrow (Acropolis) Restaurant.

2017 Spirit of Innovation award winner – Blueye Robotics from Norway – won the prestigious ECM Award for the Blueye Pioneer, the deepest underwater consumer drone on the market that can dive to depths of 150 metres.

Co-founder & Chief Global Strategist of Blueye Robotics, Christine Spiten, commented, “Winning the Innovation Award at Seawork really gave us some attention – both customers, job applicants and interested investors referred to the award! The Blueye Team is now preparing for mass production, going from prototype to the final version that will be shipped to customers in 2018”.
