Landau UK launched its new product, the Lifecord, on the opening day of Seawork.
It’s a newly designed kill cord which remedies the health and safety concerns raised about existing kill cord/kill switch facilities in a recent British Marine investigation.
Ben Metcalfe, Chief Executive, explained, “The Lifecord is a unique design that works with any vessel switch and detects when it is being worn, via a waterproof, tension sensoring device. Until the Lifecord is attached to the driver of the vessel it emits an intermittent audio and visual signal that increases in volume to warn that it is not attached when the engine is running”.
For the commercial market, the company has designed the Lifecord to be worn with a clip on a lifejacket to make it easier for coxswains changing helm position.
The product is entirely British made, from design to manufacture.
Landau is on stand PG11
