Seawork Conferences

Seawork conferences are now a well established complement to the annual Seawork exhibition , which returns to the Port of Southampton on 14 – 16 June 2011.

The 2011 conference schedule will again include the ‘How to do Business with the MoD’ sessions on the Tuesday morning and Maritime Safety sessions on Tuesday afternoon. There will be a full day of Marine Renewable Energy sessions on the Wednesday and Maritime Security sessions on the Thursday morning.

New for 2011 will be sessions dedicated to ‘Innovations in Workboat Design and Build’. This will cover the imperative for ‘green’ vessels, hybrid propulsion systems, the new requirement to run 7% biofuels in workboats, and the implications of that policy for engine performance and possible fuel contamination. These sessions will run concurrently with the Marine Renewable Energy on the Wednesday morning and will be followed in the afternoon by sessions on Hydrography. Speakers already booked in the latter category will discuss tidal curve knowledge for ports and harbours.

Do you have a suggestion for a paper that you would like to see included in these sessions? If so, please contact Fay Reeve at Mercator Media on +44 (0)1329 820479 or email a brief synopsis to freeve@seawork.com.

We will also be running Marine Civil Engineering sessions on Tuesday afternoon so please do make contact with Fay if you would like to contribute to these.

Any ideas for issues you feel need to be addressed at Seawork which are not currently included will be gratefully received. We aim to ensure that the conferences running alongside Seawork are relevant, valuable and up to date for all our visitors and exhibitors. The opinions of Seawork participants are a most valuable resource.
