Seawork 2017 great for maritime businesses
Welcoming over 630 exhibitors and 7,000 marine professionals from across Europe and rest of the world, Seawork International 2017 was hailed a resounding success.
This year’s 20th anniversary Seawork hosted a range of industry leading activities including the opportunity to view the latest innovations within the commercial marine sector, new equipment and vessel launches showcasing a vast array of products, in addition to an engaging conference programme, where key industry representatives explored numerous topical subjects.
Andrew Mallard, General Manager of MAN (UK) added ‘Seawork gives us a good opportunity to network and, unlike other exhibitions, you feel as if business is being done. You feel like you’re really achieving something. We’ve been at Seawork since its infancy and in the past five years it’s gone from strength to strength.'
Delegation and trade associations were welcomed to the exhibition, visiting from across the globe, including naval delegations from New Zealand, Bolivia, China and Malaysia, who were all keen to explore procurement opportunities with Seawork exhibitors worth £millions.
Further networking sessions were also created, with the popular Seawork popular ‘Meet the Buyer’ sessions. These services enable exhibitors to be matched with suitable organisations who require products or services. A key highlight of this was the MOD session, who were looking to create long standing commercial partnerships and trade export opportunities, worth many millions with Seawork exhibitors.
Andrew Webster, CEO of Fareham, UK based Mercator Media, producer of Seawork and Maritime Journal magazine comments, “Seawork has come a long way since its first edition in 1989 but still remains true to its origins in delivering a one-stop-shop for the commercial marine professionals. It has been the genesis of many millions worth of longstanding contracts and contacts. We really look forward to seeing all our exhibitors and visitors again in June 2018.”
