Houlder’s Turbine Access System arrives at South Boats

Houlder’s Turbine Access System (TAS) left the Seawork 2012 quayside to be delivered to South Boats’ Isle of Wight facility, where it will be installed on a workboat for Turbine Transfers Ltd.

The TAS, an actively motion compensated gangway developed with BMT Nigel Gee, was fully operational throughout Seawork – allowing potential customers to experience the patented system and see how it provides a fixed point from which personnel can safely transfer.

Following installation, this first TAS will undergo sea trials over summer.
