Goodchild Marine Services will bring to Seawork the first of two Pantocarene-designed 17m Pilot Boats in build for Estuary Services and destined to support pilots in the southern North Sea.

The Deep V planing hull features a ‘beak’ bow, which reduces pitching and slamming, particularly in heavy sea conditions, and provides excellent directional stability when transferring pilots.

Ocean 3 specialist fendering repays its high cost with its long service life and better protection for the hull.

Powered by twin 600hp Scania D16’s, coupled to Twin Disc Quickshift gearboxes driving high-performance propellers, deliver a service speed of 25 knots.

The standard of construction has contributed to achieving light weight to reduce power demand, fuel consumption and environmental impact.

Crew comfort was another design priority; the wheelhouse is set on flexible mounts to minimise noise and vibration.
