The new ORC 17m Fast Pilot Launch from Goodchild Marine
Alan Goodchild of Goodchild Marine reports: “As always, Seawork 2012 was an exciting show for Goodchild Marine Services. At the exhibition this year we made a real impact with our new design.
ORC 17 metre Fast Pilot Launch Estuary Elan on the pontoons. Seawork was the ideal opportunity to show off both the new boat design and the build quality for which Goodchild Marine is famous. The response from visitors was overwhelmingly favourable.
”The vessel was continuously full of people wanting to see the latest in pilot boat design – most of them pilots or Harbour Masters – and the late afternoon demonstration trips down Southampton Water were over-subscribed each day".
Mr Goodchild concludes: “There is no doubt our presence at Seawork made sure that Goodchild Marine will be on the tender list for all future UK pilot boat requirements and many more abroad. We look forward to SeaWork 2013.”
The boat was handed over to Ian Lord of Estuary Services Ltd at Seawork and he and his crew steamed her back to Ramsgate, where she has been impressing both crews and pilots with her performance ever since.
