Twenty-eight days to ECMAs – Last call for entries

Innovations Showcase 2017 award winners for the Marine Civil Engineering & Construction category - Dynamic Load Monitoring

The closing date for submissions to the Innovations Showcase, sponsored by British Marine, has been extended to Friday 8 June. Nominations for the European Commercial Marine Awards (ECMAs) close on Monday 11 June.

There are now just twenty-eight days before the winners of European Commercial Marine Awards (ECMA) are revealed and the judges of the prestigious awards have been announced.

Chairing the highly experienced panel is Jake Frith, Editor of Maritime Journal.  He’ll be joined by Captain Stephen Taylor, a former Royal Navy officer with thirty-four years’ experience who now works as a consultant in the commercial marine industry; Jonathan Ridley, Head of Engineering at the School of Maritime Science and Engineering, Southampton Solent University and Rebecca van den Berge- McFedries, Editor in Chief of Offshore WIND.

New to the panel is Norman Finlay MBE, founder and Lifetime President of the National Workboat Association and highly respected marine surveyor.

The awards fall into two sections – the Innovations Showcase Awards, revealing the latest in equipment, services, projects and vessels and five individual ECM Awards.  These include two new awards for Maritime Best Project Award and the Young Person’s Development Award, as well as awards for Maritime Sustainability, Maritime Professional of the Year and Lifetime Achievement.

The Young Person’s Development Award has been introduced as part of the exhibition’s 21st anniversary. It offers those aged 16 – 25, currently studying to work or just starting a career in the Maritime Industry, an opportunity to achieve industry recognition and a bursary of £850 to help further their career.  More details on entry requirements here

The Maritime Best Project Award is a new award category for 2018, presented to a company or organisation operating within the commercial marine and workboat sector, for challenges in marine civils or vessel operations. More details on the entry requirements can be found here.
