Conference session on board the Ocean Scene Conference session on board the Ocean Scene

Seawork’s 2016 conference programme featured thought-provoking sessions covering a wide variety of topics, including, Search and Rescue, Government Funding and Hybrid Technologies.

The Seawork Conference programme, which was sponsored by specialist’s insurance providers, Knighthood, explored a range of interesting topics delivered by BAE Systems, Government Grant & Tax Consultants, and the Maritime & Coastguard Agency, amongst others.

Topics included ‘The Changing Face of Search & Rescue’, ‘Show Me the Money – Government Funding’, and ‘Innovations for fast craft systems and training’.
Government Grant and Tax Consultants gave a talk titled ‘Show me the Money! 80% of eligible SME’s miss out on tens of thousands of points of Government funding pa.’ This informative talk offered practical guidance on available funding and financing streams for the marine industry.

This conference session informed on available government business incentive schemes that can typically inject £100k of free business cash, all within a month from scheme claim submission, plus other available financing and grant sources to identify the optimal route to a timely cash injection for businesses.

Seawork International’s sister event, Seawork Asia, also can an insightful presentation on the benefits of exporting to China and East Asia. Providing an overview of the current Asian Market, useful case studies and support available, this workshop was a must attend for any organisation looking to break into the East Asian market.

Once again, Seawork International also held its popular Meet the Buyer sessions. These services allowed exhibitors to be matched with suitable organisations who required products or services the exhibitor is offering. This year’s Meet the Buyer programme allowed the New Zealand Naval Advisor to meet with 15 businesses as part of the country’s naval procurement plans; exploring RIBs and landing craft options.

Seawork International will return to Mayflower Park in Southampton next June 2017. Keep up the #CommercialMarine conversation by posting your Seawork highlights and successes on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
