Yellow Admiral have had a very successful Seawork International 2009 exhibition. The company sponsored the Guinness Bar and found that a combination of this and their daily prize draw attracted a lot of positive comment. More importantly though the company took the opportunity to meet up with new and existing clients and were awarded a number of new contracts to recruit staff for their UK operations.

New research vessel handover at Seawork

A search which began three years ago culminated in the handover of a new research vessel on the floating pontoon at Seawork 2009 in Southampton last month. The Aluminium Boatbuilding Company of nearby Hayling Island officially turned the 14m LOA, 6m beam catamaran ‘RV Marisa’ over to Professor Stephen Holloway, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Liverpool.

The vessel, to be known as Island Meercat, will be a twin hulled version of the multi-role design, and is being purchased by Wicklow based marine contractors Island Shipping.

New Maritime Security Pavilion set to be a big success

The NEW Maritime Security pavilion at Seawork 2009 is supported by EEZING, the Defence Manufacturers Association (DMA) and the Association of Police and Public Security Suppliers (APPSS). It provides a marketing platform for marine companies who supply security equipment and services to ports and vessels. The pavilion, a new initiative for 2009 has been created, with the help of Captain Stephen Taylor who has been a consultant to Seawork for the past 5 years.
