Abeking & Rasmussen - the shipyard in Lemwerder, Germany - designs, builds and delivers among others offshore service vessels and workboats. Especially their SWATH@A&R design enables the vessels to sail in practically every sea state without influence on speed. The rate of motion sickness for people on board during all transit and operating modes in very low. Boarding at wind turbines is possible in sea states with significant wave heights of up to 2.5m. The vessel can stay at sea in nearly all weather conditions. A&R delivered a 25m SWATH@A&R Crew Transfer Vessel to BARD Engineering in 2010. The vessel is permanently stationed in the windfarm. Its design derives from the proven pilot tenders and was adapted to the specific needs of the offshore wind industry.
