Maritime Training Trail
With a focus on skills and learning, this trail gives visitors the chance to explore training employment and education opportunitites within the commercial marine sector.
with Solent EBP, Seawork brings an
understanding of what it is like to work in the Commercial Marine
sector to students each year.
In 2010, we worked in conjunction with Solent Education Business Partnership and the Portsmouth & East Hampshire Education Business Partnership and The University of Southampton, The National Oceanagraphic Centre, City College, Eastleigh College and other local colleges and schools, with regard to bringing groups of students/graduates back to Seawork.
Seawork 2009 reinvented the Maritime Training & Careers Pavilion and brought in local school children to see what types of jobs are available in the Commercial Marine industry. They had a fun day out which gave them the opportunity to look around the pavilion and talk to recruitment and training organisations about the different careers that are available to them.
Students had the opportunity to get hands on experience as to what life is like aboard a real life Naval vessel when they went aboard HMS Blazer. Others were lucky enough to have a trip around the solent from a Seawork exhibitor.
