Get a scrubber on board

An innovative automated hull and surface cleaner that could take the pain out of regular cleaning and reduce maintenance downtime for a number of vessels came all the way from Norway to the Seawork exhibition in Southampton UK last month.

Miko Marine has a number of new technologies to their name. This one, the SteelClimber, is an air operated magnetic crawler that works its way across surfaces that need cleaning.

The company expects it to find a big market within the shipping industry, because this unit will clean hulls above and below the water line without needing to put the vessel in dry dock.
