Innovations Showcase

Designed to focus attention on product and design developments in the previous 12 months, the Showcase gives visitors a fast track overview of what is new to the market.

The 2007 Seawork Innovations Showcase Awards, presented at the Seawork Gala Dinner, saw Iain Shepherd, Chairman of Sponsors Marine South East, handing the ‘Spirit of Innovation’ trophy to James Grazebrook of Halyard (M+I) Ltd for the patented Exhaust Resonator Silencer.

Category winners were: Safety and Survival - Ocean Safety for the Jonbuoy Inflatable Rescue Sling; Vessel Design and  Construction - Macduff Ship Design for the first tug to be built with the Mampaey Dynamic Oval  Towing System; Diving and Underwater Technology - Apeks Marine for their TEK 3 Technical First Stage Hose Regulator; Marine Electronics - DEIF (UK)  Ltd for the Ultrasonic Wind Sensor. Rob Hart, Managing Director of Mini- Breather Scuba Products Ltd, donated a complete Mini-B system  for a business card competition which was drawn mid-afternoon on Wednesday. The lucky winner was Mark Birch of Sandown and Shanklin Inshore Lifeboat. Last, but most definitely not least, Paul Willoughby of Flybe.com gave two return flights to a destination on the Flybe schedule. The flights were won by Mike Toulson of Costain Civil Engineering Ltd.
