South Boats Ltd. completes expansion and develops New Markets

The Isle of Wight-based commercial boatbuilder, South Boats, has recently completed a massive expansion moving to the ex-FBM site at West Cowes now called Medina Yard.

Danbrit’s Sirocco, a South Catamaran 42/13m Alloy WFSV, exhibited at Seawork 2005, proved a great success in service on UK Offshore Wind Farms, demonstrating its abilities by completing in excess of 1000 transfers per month in up to 3m Significant Wave Height to the Offshore Structures.

At Seawork 2006, South Boats hopes to exhibit Offshore Provider, a South Catamaran 44/14m Alloy WFSV fitted with twin Scania DI12 500hp engines coupled to Twin Disc Quickshift gearboxes and Ultra Dynamics 376 Water Jet Units, 12 individual KAB crew seats and an enhanced back-up electronic control package, giving total independent control of each water jet unit, enabling the boat to have uncompromised manoeuvrability.
