Seawork 2006 – The View Forward
01 Sep 2005
“Our objective is to present an enhanced visitor experience” stated Jane Wilson recently. “We have re-designed the layout so that Seawork will be a true two-hall event. The Small Business Enterprise Zone will be consolidated in Hall 2 but will remain closely integrated with the remainder of the show”.
The entire interior floor area has been re-designed for improved traffic flow and more efficient use of space.
Once again, parking, links to rail, road signage and above all catering, with a new contractor, are taking a high priority in forward planning.
Two New Specialist Features
The Fluid Power Pavilion
The success of the DiveWork sector has led to the development of a Fluid Power Pavilion with the expectation of solid support from a number of new exhibitors in this field, as well as established Seawork enthusiasts, such as Bosch Rexroth, Concept Fluid Solutions, Hercules and Eaton. The British Fluid Power Association headed by Director Ian Morris, is strongly supporting this interesting new development. The BFPA will have their own hospitality area within the Fluid Power Pavilion which will be situated in a prime location adjacent to the main restaurant.
Focus on Renewable Energy “Being part of DiveWork has ensured we’ve received a steady flow of visitors particularly those interested in ROVs. We’ve gained worldwide leads,” says Chris Bryant of Subsea Vision Ltd. Renewable energy sources made a considerable impact on the 2005 exhibition, as the potential of wind and tide power attracts attention at all levels, from senior government to consumers.
This trend is set to in 2006 continue with an increase in related exhibitors and visitors – many with considerable budgets at their command.
‘As one of Seawork’s virgin exhibitors, we were delighted with the number of new contacts we made. We also found the conference covered topics vital to the tidal and wave power sector and only regretted the brief question periods following some interesting papers. We extended our consultancy client list and also took time out to inspect potential vessels and other equipment options. All round, a great show,’ Richard Parkinson, Mojo Maritime
