MET Office Launches “Weather Pilot”

The Met Office, with partners Lloyds Maritime Intelligence, hosted a breakfast briefing on their stand to demonstrate ‘Weather Pilot’, a new Forecasting and Risk Assessment capability, to the world’s port community.

Over 50 members of the UK Harbour Masters Association watched a multi-screen presentation by Mark Hannam, Met Office International Business Manager, demonstrating the comprehensive data available, embracing tailored, local met conditions and vessel movements. The new service has the capacity to service up to 500 ports worldwide.
