News about Seawork 2005

DiveWork Capsule Attracts Strong Interest

In only its second year, DiveWork consolidated its presence at Seawork. The pavilion was fully subscribed and enjoyed three days of excellent business with many new products on show.

Within a 12 month span  it has become a lively focus for demonstration and discussion about the vital skills and technology which are at the forefront of the industry. DiveWork covers every aspect of marine civil engineering, seabed surveying and the installation and maintenance of coastal and inshore structures such as wind farms and tide and current measurement devices. Renewable energy will be a major issue over the next decade and the types of vessels and equipment that are covered by Seawork are extremely relevant to this developing market sector.

“Seawork 2005 and in particular the DiveWork area was a great success and brought together a diverse selection of those most active in this sector of the industry. The community feel to the DiveWork section of the show helped give it a most warming atmosphere for exhibitors and visitors alike,” Roger  O’Kane, Secretary, The Association of Diving Contractors.

A series of conference papers specifically targeted at the diving industry, including presentations by the Maritime & Coastguard Agency and the Health & Safety Executive, as well as companies offering services to the DiveWork sector, was particularly well attended, with nearly 130 delegates packing the room.

DiveWork will expand further in 2006.
