Conference Success

By general concensus, the 2005 Seawork Conference – held in Southampton concurrently with the Seawork 2005 Exhibition – was the most successful in its eight year history with 32% of the 5,225 visitors citing it as a reason to visit.

Many of the papers were enjoyed by ‘standing-room-only’ audiences, with loudspeakers beyond the conference room doors to enable the overflow to hear the proceedings. 67% of delegates questioned gave good/excellent ratings for quality of presentation; content of presentation scored 80%.

According to Neil  Eccles, the conference coordinator, the majority of papers were expertly presented with high quality visual aids to maintain audience interest.

A total of some 20 papers were presented and seminars given during the three days with, once again, the MoD Boat Capability and Procurement Programme drawing the largest number of all, closely followed by a presentation by the Economic Zone Industry Group (EEZING).
