Developed with the RNLI for the Tamar class - the new fast slipway lifeboat - SIMS controls and integrates the entire electronic and electrical functions of the advanced Search and Rescue vessel into six networked operator workstations. Incorporating navigation, communications (internal and external), CCTV, monitoring and control, fire detection and all other ship's management tasks into a resilient multi-network system built for harsh environments, the system provides a level of integration not seen before. Functionality includes full mission logging for training, replay and investigation purposes.

Lyteline Technology Ltd and Holyhead Towing were awarded Highly Commended Certificates for their entries into the seawork2003 Innovations Showcase. Lyteline for its Firesnake and Fireworm illuminated cabling systems and Holyhead Towing for its environmentally-friendly, low air draft vessel, developed to transport airbus A380 components down the River Dee.
