Leading lifting gear distributor – Certex UK, recently announced the successful acquisition of Global Defence Procurement Ltd (GDP), which has its main offices within the Devonport Naval Base in Plymouth. GDP facilities include a fully MCA-approved servicing station for rescue boats, life rafts and life jackets. Other products include personal protective equipment, ropes, wires and other lifting products, navigation equipment, fire-fighting equipment and diving apparatus.

Tony Stringer, Certex’s Managing Director, says: “Although there is obvious synergy between the companies, their client bases are very separate. This deal will give Certex an ideal opportunity to grow as a business and also expand into market sectors where it is not currently represented, particularly in the field of military procurement.”
