  • Seawork Marina Achieves Objective

    The new marina format was introduced in 2005 and both exhibitors and visitors were pleased with the result. The extended pontoon, working from one central access point, allowed  greater footfall on the waterside and encouraged more demonstrations.

    Seawork grows by another 15%

  • Dive into history

    Searchwise Ltd are supplying a brand new Dive Tank which will be situated on the quayside at Seawork 2006. It will contain underwater cameras so that demonstrations can be transmitted onto a screen on the ADC stand throughout the duration of the event.

    Finning Power Systems’ Conference Paper on Emissions Regulations will cover the current emissions regulations and their effect on the commercial marine sector. The regulations have been implemented as a result of the stringent emission requirements under EPA Tier 2 and Tier 3 and the European standards stage II/Stage IIIA/Stage IIIA.

    Lloyd’s Maritime Intelligence Unit, in partnership with the UK Met Office, is launching a new Forecasting and Risk Assessment capability to the World’s Port Community at Seawork 2006 International.

    Volvo Penta D16 launches at Seawork With the assistance of electronics and state-of-the- art technology, Volvo Penta now has a marine diesel engine with outstanding torque and more than 150hp in output than its predecessor, with a peak output of 750hp in rating 2.

  • Great Foundation for 10th Year Celebrations

    Seawork 2006 exceeded the expectations of both exhibitors and visitors – and the weather was kind too! Record levels of business enquiries were received from the 5,700 visitors who clicked through the turnstiles.  

  • Always Something New

    Seawork has become renowned for its ‘special features’ and 2006 was no exception. It all started with the Small Business Enterprise Zone,  designed to encourage emerging companies to meet the market face-to-face, which now comprises more than 75 businesses from all  sides of the industry. This year, there was another important first – the Maritime Jobs Fair, put together by the Fareham and Southampton Chamber of Commerce, Jobcentre Plus and the local universities and nautical colleges. 
     

  • Contracts Signed – Orders Placed!

    INTERNATIONAL VISITORS FOR NORFLOAT Tony Isham of Norfloat reported good levels of interest in their new, affordable river navigation buoy, particularly from UK harbour masters. Additionally, a number of strong enquiries were received from visitors from Gibraltar, Italy and Mozambique. 

  • Seawork on TV!

    On the opening day, Seawork hosted BBC TV South. Jane Wilson (Exhibition Manager), Ben Colman of South Boats and the ADC Dive Tank Challenge, featured prominently in the coverage. The feature was broadcast at lunchtime and on the evening news. 

  • Rolls Royce report record enquiries

    More than 50 companies visited the Rolls-Royce stand, many returning on several occasions to follow up on real enquiries. On display was an FF375S aluminium waterjet, en-route to a UK builder for the MoD Police.  

  • MoD at Seawork

    For the first time the UK Ministry of Defence Integrated Project Team (IPT) which is responsible for the procurement of all military boats and associated equipment for the UK Armed Forces, (Boats and Sea Survival – BASS), was present on the DMA stand at Seawork 2006. 

  • MET Office Launches “Weather Pilot”

    The Met Office, with partners Lloyds Maritime Intelligence, hosted a breakfast briefing on their stand to demonstrate ‘Weather Pilot’, a new Forecasting and Risk Assessment capability, to the world’s port community.  

  • Marine Designs win Civil Engineering Award

    Marine Designs Ltd, of Falmouth, were proud to win the coveted ‘Best in Category’Award for their ‘Dockmaster’ pontoon system at Seawork 2006.

    DiveWork 2006 was bigger and more successful than ever, with more than 25 companies exhibiting and 40 represented on the DiveWork Trail.

    Now in its ninth year, Seawork is living up to its full title, Seawork 2006 International, by bringing exhibitors from all across Europe and even further afield to completely fill the cavernous Canary Islands Fruit Terminalfrom end to end for the first time. In growing the show by 15% yet again, the Seawork team has built on the success of earlier DiveWork and RIBwork initiatives by adding a Fluid Power Pavilion, supported by the British Fluid Power Association, and an SSA hosted Ship Building & Ship Repair Pavilion.
