Seawork – The Venue for Debuts

It is clear that more and more exhibitors regard Seawork International as a prime launch pad for new vessels and products. Every day had its highlights, with Damen Shipyards, VT Halmatic, Halyard and Mermaid Engines amongst the many companies using Seawork to inform the industry and media about their latest achievements and developments.

The British Ministry of Defence (MoD) personnel were present in unprecedented numbers, not only to renew contacts but to search for potential new suppliers.

Perhaps the tone of Seawork 2005 International is best expressed by the views of two exhibitors, one new to the event, and another who has been a supporter since the very first exhibition in 1998: Linda Diamond of Jotun paints, who has  been at Seawork since its inception, commented: “More business, more orders, stronger enquiries this year. The right venue for show-casing our new products.” In contrast, it was David  Woolston of Concept Fluid Solutions first experience: ‘‘We’re a new company and this is our first trade exhibition. The people we’ve had on the stand have all been genuinely interested in our products. The visitors are all in the industry and there aren't any tyre-kickers. The set-up and organisation are fantastic and the atmosphere’s friendly. The positives outweigh the negatives by miles and it’s the perfect launch pad for a new company.’’
