South Boats’ New Cat Supports Renewables

The South Catamaran 13m Island (Alloy), codenamed SCC001, is a ‘first of class’ new build for the newly formed South Boats Special Projects Division and is scheduled for customer acceptance at Seawork 2005 International.
The vessel is to be operated for the support and servicing of inshore and offshore wind farm structures around the UK coastline.
It has a Palfinger Marine PK45001M Fully Hydraulic Foldable Marine Crane. Main propulsion is two Scania 420hp units driving Ultra Dynamics’ Ultrajet 376s, delivering speed up to 24 knots. The vessel is fitted with an island wheelhouse centrally located with flying bridge/ observation deck atop.
