Marine Construction Drives Industry
01 Sep 2003
seawork2004 is pleased to confirm that Civil Engineering communications expert, Carol Mackaoui, has once again been appointed to put together a series of topical and incisive papers for 2004.
In association with the Institution of Civil Engineers, the day’s programme will provide unique and invaluable insights into commercial port investment, successful marina development and management, government investment into recreational navigation on rivers and inland waterways, coastal and environmental issues covering commercial and industrial projects and successful waterside tourism ventures. It will include case histories from high profile projects in the UK and Europe.
Speaking about the success of the 2003 Conference, Carol stated: ‘The topicality of issues and the obvious networking opportunities drew delegates from diverse disciplines including international consulting engineers, river and coastal scientists, environmental policy and planning management consultants, developers, financiers and leisure end users.
As an indication of how important seawork is to the civil engineering industry, all those companies involved in the sector who exhibited in 2003 have already committed to seawork2004, including Edmund Nuttall, Ballast Ham Dredging, Mowlem Marine and Land & Water.
“seawork2003 was the first major exhibition Land and Water Group attended in 2003 and it was a resounding success. Our stand generated substantial new business leads not only from companies in the UK but also a high percentage from overseas. In addition, we formed relationships with many of the key media publications that cover the sector. We will definitely be appearing at seawork2004 and would recommend it to anyone who is serious about growing and developing their business in the marine sector.”
