News about Seawork 2004

30% more to see at seawork2004

The momentum which seawork has maintained since its inaugural year in 1998 has accelerated yet again. On entering the huge exhibition halls at the Canary Islands Fruit Terminal ABP’s Port of Southampton, 22-24 June, visitors will immediately appreciate how the number and variety of exhibitors and exhibits has increased.

New international exhibitors in 2004 include B & B Winches of Canada, Micad Marine and Freeman Marine Equipment Inc of the USA, Effer Holding SPA and Marco SPA of Italy, Restech Norway, Poralu International of France and UKI Workboat of Finland, to name but a small selection.

Now firmly established as the world’s leading showcase and forum for the commercial marine industry, seawork2004 will attract visitors searching for the latest developments and opportunities across the many technologies and disciplines vital to the operation and maintenance of ports and terminals, their associated infrastructures and the enormous variety of vessels engaged in tasks arising from dredging, surveying, towage, pilotage and safety services. 25% more vessels for test and trial

At the first seawork in 1998, barely a score of workboats were berthed on the exhibition pontoon. In 2004, those strolling the specially-designed marina will have at least 50 vessels to catch their attention.

It is not simply the number which is significant. Where else would you find hovercraft, RIBs from 6m to 18m, pilot boats, barges, tugs, catamarans, charter angling vessels, high speed ‘stealth’ launches and commercial pleasure craft?
