Designs on the Future

Clyde-based Marine Design International offers an uplifting and dynamic design service. Created in 2005 by the merging of McCaig and Napier Ltd, McCaig Watson Ltd and Simon Cormack Ltd, the new business has drawn together a wealth of knowledge, streamlined its processes and created stunning vessels. The Knab, for Lerwick Port Authority, is an all-round harbour workboat with tug and pilot capabilities, while the Bluefinn is a stylish, sturdy workboat in aluminium designed for continued operation in heavy weather and a top speed of 22 knots.

Commenting on the decision to exhibit at Seawork, Simon Cormack said: “Having had great benefit from Seawork as a visitor, we recognised the exciting prospect of being more involved and the opportunity of a stand in the enterprise zone was our way in – to be there for our existing customers and hopefully meet new ones!”
