01 Jun 2007
At Cheetah Marine five catamarans are in build including a 7.9m survey boat for Saudi Ports Authority. Using the extended wheelhouse, the specification is very high and includes a moonpool, multibeam, RTK Positioning System and an ROV. A 7.9m version with a less detailed specification is underway for Bangor University.
Cheetah Marine’s successful 7.9m catamaran on berth A3 at Seawork.
Both boats will have Honda engines. Sean Strevens, Cheetah Partner, says “The 7.9m is a particularly successful catamaran for us. Apart from survey craft we are building a committee boat for Royal Lymington Yacht Club, two commercial fishing boats and a leisure cat”.
Recent deliveries include two 6.9m boats, one for Gabon and a 9.95m commercial fishing vessel.
