Seawork International focuses upon the design, build and repair of working vessels, the operation of workboats within the inshore and coastal regions, the manufacture and supply of all types of marine equipment and the marine contracting and civil engineering projects which take place within the port and harbour environment. |
One aspect of Seawork's continuous evolution has been the successful implementation of pavilions dedicated to specific industry sectors. New in 2009 and joining the established DiveWork and Ship Repair Pavilion was the Maritime Security Pavilion which is supported by ADS and the Marine Civils Pavilion, supported by the Institution of Civil Engineers and media partner New Civil Engineer magazine. With names such as Costain Marine, Kaymac Marine and Dean & Dyball in attendance.
We also had a new pavilion named the Maritime Training and Careers Pavilion which is supported by Seavision and Seacity. In 2010 this will no longer be a dedicated pavilion but will be a trail around the show. We will be continue to bring in the future maritime workforce from local schools and colleges to see what exciting opportunities are available for them in the future.
The Seawork Conference is a full programme of excellent papers on themes ranging from marine renewable energy and marine civil engineering to port and coastal hydrographic survey plus much more.
Business advantage for Seawork exhibitors is further heightened by the UK Trade & Investment Inward Buyers Mission initiative, which brings more than 20 key buyers from around the world plus the UK based Commercial Officers specifically to do business at the show.
Seawork is supported by a network of over 30 powerful trade associations and institutions which, in addition to the UKHMA, includes the RNLI, the UK Maritime Pilots' Association, the Fluid Power Association, the Association of Diving Contractors, the Shipbuilders and Shiprepairers Association, the Institution of Civil Engineers, and the Society of Consulting Marine Engineers and Ship Surveyors. The UK Harbour Masters' Association has held its annual General Meeting at Seawork since 1998.
Seawork International Conference and Exhibition, the premier commercial marine and workboat exhibition and conference, is owned and organised by Mercator Media Ltd, a company with extensive experience in the maritime sector. Mercator Media Ltd also owns a portfolio of leading marine titles including Maritime Journal, Port Strategy, The Motorship, World Fishing, Navigation News and Boating Business.
